A delicious and easy to prepare chocolate pudding. From “The Best of Amish Cooking” by Phyllis Pellman Good.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Mix dry ingredients well. In a saucepan heat 1 ½ cups milk. Add other ½ cup of milk to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- When the milk is hot, but before a skim forms, stir in the dampened dry ingredients. Stir constantly over heat until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle boil. (It should not boil vigorously.)
- Remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve either warm or cold.
